his Gold medal was pure luck Phelps didn't have a stroke left. Nevertheless a Gold is Gold. 400 000 rands for Chad.

The more you practice the luckier you get... Le Clos won, fair and square!

Gary Player used to say this. :D But, hey, Phelps was only a stroke short because the pressure of a house on fire Le Clos, closing in on him in the final seconds played havoc on his rythm. Le Clos won it ! No luck involved. Just as the Springboks won the 2007 world cup, no luck involved!!!!

Van Den Burgh - gold as well as WORLD RECORD!!!! \:D/ :smt023 =D>

Why do people always think we (SA) need luck to do good? We breed exceptional athletes in this country, finish and klaar!!! Look at Pistorius. Even without legs we breed them good enough to be under the 20 fastest 400m athletes alive. :smt023

What about the men's light-weight rowing team, clinching a win in the dying seconds ... was that luck as well??? I think NOT!!! =D> =D> =D>

We do not need luck, because we are born in harsh circumstances and are taught to fight to the end.

Pity about Mokoena :( , but let's hope Semenya does us proud.

The 4 x 400 - First heat - DNF because the second runner fell.
According to the commentator they might get a bye into the next round because he was tripped by the Kenyan runner.

SA in the 4 x 400m final. We have a very real chance for a medal. Well done Brigette.

Later on also Caster, and don't be surprised if we see a world record here.

Nothing funny about it. She thoroghly deserved the silver. At the bell trailing in last place I realised she had left it too late. Being a middle and long distance runner myself I know its imperitive to stay in contact with the front of the bunch even if you have a lightning kick at the death like Caster. She made a mistake, she'll learn from it and make us even prouder of her.

Team SA is an inspiration to all. Well done!

Give them all a bells . . . Or whatever energy drink they prefer. :-)

I think she was under a tremendous amount of pressure and not just from the race point of view, so ja well done to all our athletes.
