A C-130 was lumbering along when a fighter jet flashed by.
The jet jockey decided to show off.
The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, 'watch this!' and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb.
He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier.
The F-16 pilot asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that?

The C-130 pilot said, 'That was impressive, but watch this!'
The C-130 droned along straight and level for about 5 minutes and then the C-130 pilot came back on the radio: 'What did you think of that?'
Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked: 'What the heck did you do?'

The C-130 pilot chuckled: 'I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, took a leak, then got a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a toasted sandwich.

'Tis a very old story indeed - I first read it in one of those USAF safety magazines in the sixties and the characters involved were a C-137 tanker and a pair of F4's. I'm not sure Uncle Roger of Straight and Level fame in Flight International did not relate it back around the same time.

While perusing some Straight and Level stuff on the web I came across this one:

Quote:
During a recent accident investigation by America's NTSB it was determined that an altimeter which had been is use for 485 hours had some incorrect parts, some parts missing, one part installed upside down, and a jewel installed off centre. The board finds that, 'while the evidence is not conclusive, the captain's altimeter was probably reading incorrectly.'

There was also a ruder version involving the captain of the tanker on the way back from the head and an air stewardess.

A true story: a SAFAIR was taxiing out to runway 19 at Waterkloof back in the 80's when the pilot called the tower to tell the ATC that there was a dog on the runway. The ATC replied that he would inform the fire department (they were responsible for these types of occupancies). The pilot replied "the dog isn't on fire!".......

Ok here we go  (Dean delete if you think). This also actually happened in the seventies, I think at Lanseria.

Learjet pilot'" Ah, Lanseria ZS-ABC ready for immediate departure"

ATC," ABC, standby, SAFAIR L-100 on short final RWY06"

Learjet pilot with an exaggerated sigh," Roger will hold short for the "Herkyturkey" on finals"

L-100 pilot all gentlemanly," Ah..., Lanseria, please advise ZS-ABC, four screws are still better than two blow-jobs!!"

Sorry - I'm a controller!!
