Hi there

I believe that in the 1960s and 1970s, maybe the 80s, there were metal army recon wings - one has a motto with the letters "Per Spicimus". The other, and I presume more recent, had no motto on the wings. Both of them had a Springbok in the centre. Can anyone tell me what years these two wings started and finished?

Regards

Doug

Per Spicimus is the motto of 42 Sqn. During the mentioned period, SA Army officers were trained as pilots in Potchefstroom on the Cessna 185, primarly for recce and fire control of the Artillery
