Last week we handed over a wall canvas to Fritz Johl of his mount of 1944 2sqdn.
He flew this aircraft on many missions but one day in a coin flip-up it was decided that Porky de Waal should fly DB-B for a dive bombing mission. It was fortunate luck for Fritz but unfortunate for Porky as this plane exploded for unexplained reasons during the bombing dive, right in front of Fritz.
Anyway as Fritz said, "It does not matter how good pilot you are, it is all a matter of luck"
