I am compiling a (short) list of all the flights made by the Concorde to South Africa with as many details and images as I can find.
If anyone can help please post or PM me.

This is the basics of what I have already - no idea if there were more visits.

January / February 1973 Concorde G-BSST “Hot and High” trials in Johannesburg, supersonic trials in Cape Town (over the ocean)

March 1976 Concorde G-BBDG “Hot and High” trials in Johannesburg, supersonic trials in Cape Town (over the ocean). Data from production model compared with data from prototype

March 1985 Concorde G-BOAC Cunard charter flight to carry passengers to and from QE2 on its world cruise. Set new London to Cape Town speed record, new Cape Town to London record and return flight record for its class.

April 1990 Concorde G-BOAF Charter flight – no further details known

March 1992 Concorde G-BOAC Chartered for launch of new BMW 3 series. Carried out promotional flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town

February 2000 Concorde G-BOAD American charter – Washington to Cape Town and return - no further details known

G-BSST Flew Fairford to Jan Smuts January 22nd, 1973
The trials ended February 20th, 1973
G-BSST returned to Fairford from South Africa February 24th, 1973

1985
March 28th, Concorde under commercial charter from London to Cape Town established a record time of 8 hrs 8 mins.

I remember as a kid seeing Concorde come in over Tygerberg Hills. Awesome sight, I stopped dead in my tracks during a Hockey game and watched her come in. My team mates and coach didn't quite appreciate it as much as I did. The noise was something I will never forget.

Yes, I also remember the sound of those engines. My parents lived in the town of Edenvale back then (halfway between the airport and Johannesburg,) and I was in primary school. One morning there was this lovely noise, and me and my sister ran to the window, over the bed. I kicked the bed backwards and fell between the bed and the window, cutting my heel quite bad in the process. But all worth the effort!

I also saw Concord in Durban early 70's
