How many classic airplanes are left in SA? The recent Tempe airshow in Bloem really made me wonder about this. Sure, the show was well organized and the commentator did his best to keep the crowd interested. But in truth, Bloemfontein aviation enthusiasts with a love for radial or jet engines went home deeply depressed, with the day saved only by the appearance of an T28 and an L39 towards the end of the show (by which time a considerable portion of the large crowd had left). So the question is: are the warbird owners just not into coming to Bloem, or are the warbirds no longer around.

(The glider aerobatic display was a pleasant surprise, and the Tigermoth off course always nice to see).

Too expensive :?: . I reckon they go to select shows closer to home. There was a T-2 Buckeye at Swartkop a couple of years ago. Wonder what happened to that ?
