Went there a few years back and they were open to visitors. Incredible walking through that hanger with 3 Lightnings, 2 Buccaneers, 2 Hunters, Puma, F-1CZ etc. the average British aviation enthusiast would've been beside himself. All were airworthy except for the F-1 (ex-SAAF)

Must have been many years back. The F1 was kicked out the hanger, along with most of the other static aircraft, in I think 2010. I've heard many visitors say they've subsequently been refused entry to view the remaining aircraft.

What is the current status of the Thunder City company? I was under the impression that it was liquidated several years ago and all its aircraft sold.

The aircraft are on permanent sale and every so often a new ad will appear. However, I understand that the test pilot and commercial side has closed, but the aircraft are still flown every now and then.

Yes, about 10 years back. The static aeries were already in a separate hanger. There was an ex-SAAF Bucanneer as well.
