She arrived around 01:00

The RAF A330MRTT, ZZ337, "ASCOT9201", departed today at 10:30. She was joined by the four Tornados "RETRO21", over Robben Island & from there the formation departed.

Was hoping they would come down the ILS after forming up & then fly a standard departure plate ... but sadly not .. so no photos

For those wondering why a RAF tanker: NATO operates a pool of tankers, from the RAF, USAF, France, Netherlands, etc. Thus, whenever a partner nation requires a tanker, it is requested from and drawn from the pool of tankers.

ZZ337 just landed at FACT... having returned from Ascension. Hmmmm

Has the RAF tanker left again?

We haven't heard or seen it again since it arrived on Saturday ... but it could have sneaked out. Although FR24 still has it on the ground at FACT

She left this morning around 07:20.
