Yesterday I was invited to take some photos at an airsoft game. Somehow they managed to get me to play two rounds and gave me a 'Glock' for the first round, and a shotgun for the second. Playing with the handgun was much more satisfying than the shotgun! On the third and final round I took some photos of the guys and girls in action.

Lets see if the link to the photos will work:

Very nice photo's

Then without sounding like a kill joy please tell the chap wearing the South African Police pattern 2 camoflauge to be careful. In one photo he has a red tent/canopy behind him.

The reason being, according to legislation it is seen as what is called Active camoflauge, in that the SAPolice Special Task Force still wear it as their official uniform and wearing it can have legal consequences.

The other active camo is the SANDF camo uniform. Both are illegal to wear in SA if not part of either the SAPolice STF or SANDF

That would be me....

I highly doubt its the SAPS camo... as the jacket has been in my collection for well over 20 years. One of the guys we played with yesterday, identified it as a 'rare 32 Bat. jacket'...

However, if you're sure that its SAPS camo, I will refrain from wearing it.

I wore that type of bush jacket whilst at Police College 1984 and whilst a member of Riot Unit 8 and have some of mine that were issued to me still in my possesion.

The SAPolice 2nd pattern came out in the early 1970's.

People think it is 32 Battalion as the 32 Battalion berets were made from the SAPolice 2nd pattern camoflauge material.

The SAPolice later issued 2n pattern SAPolice camo berets to the Riot Units and these are mistaken for 32 Battalion berets, but they are of a very different style/cut to the 32 battalion ones.

If you want images I will gladly forward some to you just p.m

I had pants that were of the same material and made the mistake of walking into a bar that was frequented by SAP when i was a younger man. My old man warned me that it was SAP camo but I ignored him. [-X

Needless to say I was "requested" not to wear them in public again.
