Hi

I have long been toying with the idea of doing a scenary package for historical SA airports.
The huge problem however is the fact that I do not have airport layout maps for historical
airports in SA, or even the mutations for the current ones such as Jan Smust and DF Malan.
The reason for this is that I have a great love of historic South African civil aviation and
there are a number of superb add-on's out there with lovely SAA aircraft liveries on them
so it seems to be a pity that these aircraft can not be enjoyed in their traditional environments.

Here are is a list of Airports that would be useful.

1. Jan Smuts (1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's)
2. DF Malan (1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's)
3. Louis Botha (1950's, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's)
3. Stamford Hill (1930's, 1940's, early 1950's)
4. Wingfield (1930's, 1940's, early 1950's)
5. Port Elizabeth
6. East London
7. George
8. Beaufort West
9. Keetmanshoop
10. Windhoek International
11. Windhoek Eros
12. Durban Virginia
13. Rand Aiport
14. Lanseria.

Photos of these airports would be useful. However runway maps/airport layouts would really do the
trick. Any idea as to where I could get these? Or would anyone be willing to share this info?
Thanks

I have some old Aerad/Jeppeson airport charts, dating back to the 80's and 90's, for many of the airports.

Would that help?

I think I've seen a scenery package similar to the one you want to make. I'll have a look for it and let you know.

Thanks guys. Right now it is more along the lines of project scoping and

Give you some idea as to what I am sort of looking for as well as airport charts.

The real killer however is the lack of airport layouts. Knowing where runways are
and the buildings is the problem. Everything comes to a screeching halt at that point.
Ideally what I would like to do would would be to create a CD which would have a
commercial level quality and allow a person to install scenary for SA and hopefully
Southern Africa from various periods from the 1930's - 1990's.
Right now this is just in conceptual/fantasy stage and I would not want to repeat
any other products that are out there - so if you do know of stuff then I would be
very interested to hear about it.
